Decoding How Your Stakeholders Think: A Working Session on Stakeholder Influence

Your idea was solid. The room didn't respond. Here's why.

A 60-minute working session on how to read what your stakeholders actually need, and adjust how you show up before the meeting even starts.

When: Thursday, May 21st at 10:00 AM MT, 12:00 ET

Where: Zoom Meeting

The Problem

Most mid to senior-level leaders I work with are smart, prepared, and thorough.

They walk into the stakeholder meeting with solid data, a clear recommendation, and a well-reasoned case.

And they still leave with polite nods and no real movement.

Here's what's usually happening: the way you naturally communicate — your default style under pressure — is almost certainly different from how your key stakeholders prefer to receive information and make decisions.

An executive who thinks in frameworks and big-picture logic doesn't want your 15-slide deck. A detail-oriented, process-driven peer doesn't want your 3-bullet summary. A relationship-first leader doesn't want your ROI analysis before you've acknowledged the people impact.

It's not about dumbing things down. It's about translating — so the right person hears what you actually mean.

That's what this session is about.

What I’ll Cover:

Part 1: Understand your own wiring. We'll use the TypeCoach framework to identify your natural communication style, how you make decisions, and where you tend to create friction without realizing it — especially under pressure.

Part 2: Read your stakeholders. You'll learn to quickly identify how each of the four temperament styles prefers to receive information, build trust, and make decisions. This is the part that changes how you walk into rooms.

Part 3: Flex in the moment. We'll work through practical influence strategies for each style — what to say, what to avoid, and how to adjust your approach so your ideas land rather than stall.

WHAT YOU'LL WALK AWAY WITH:

  • A clear read on your own TypeCoach profile and where it shows up in your stakeholder relationships

  • A practical reference guide for identifying and influencing each of the four temperament styles

  • A working draft of how to adapt your next high-stakes pitch or proposal to your specific audience

  • Language you can use immediately — in your next meeting, your next email, your next ask

  • One year of access to the TypeCoach platform — including self-paced videos, coaching tools, and AI Ask Rob, so you can keep developing your influence skills long after the session ends

WHO THIS IS FOR

This session is designed for mid- to senior-level leaders who are deep experts in their functional area — navigating complex, matrixed organizations where getting things done requires influence, not always formal authority.

It's especially useful if:

  • You've had a proposal stall out even though you knew it was the right call

  • You leave stakeholder meetings unsure whether you actually moved anything forward

  • You're influencing across functions without direct authority, and it's harder than it should be

  • You've received feedback like "you need to build more executive presence" with no clear path to get there
